Tomorrow on The Lost Child: Music from Gip's Place, courtesy the Southern Music Research Center archive!
The Lost Child is on the air! Listen locally at 107.3 FM or stream it anywhere on @birminghammountainradio — www.bhammountainradio.com!
There’s just ONE WEEK LEFT of my art show at @rojobham with green “sold” dots already on some of my old faves — but there are still plenty of great pieces available, and at great prices (as low as $25 & $30, with the big Loretta just marked down to move). Stop by the Rojo sideroom this weekend or in the coming week, grab some delicious food & drink, and claim some original Lost Child art. Purchases can be picked up on April 4, or we can arrange a time that works for you. Thanks for your support, and thanks to Rojo for hosting!
This month I’m wrapping up a project documenting the fiddles of musician and craftsman Earnest Mostella (1908-2003) of Ashville, Alabama. Huge thanks to @alabamafolklife for their support of the project through a 2022 Cauthen Fellowship — and to photographer Sean Pathasema for his lovely images of Mostella’s creations, seen here. (Please swipe to see more.)
